Our Story
The Hound was established in 2017. Maria Danson began her grooming career in 2011; progressing with her training she attained her City & Guilds Level 3 Professional Stylist Diploma in 2015. She continues with her professional development, attending seminars, training days and grooming competitions. She has also competed in numerous Championship Dog Shows with her Standard Poodle Atastar in Love Again aka Margot, including the famous green carpet at Crufts 2020.
Maria has worked with the Hearing Dogs for Deaf since 2015, grooming the puppies in training and continues to groom some dogs which have gone on to become life changing assistance dogs. She has raised thousands of pounds over the years for the charity, as well as Guide Dogs UK and Alzheimer's Research. She is a valued member of the Marple Community and has been involved with various fun dogs shows and Charity events. She also holds an annual Santa Paws event at the shop which customers love attending and all money raised is donated.

Natalie Young - Professional Groomer
Natalie began her grooming career at The Hound as Maria's assistant back in 2023. Maria has fully trained Natalie in all aspects of grooming; to a high standard and competent level.
Natalie has fully embraced her new position as Stylist and is taking on new clients.
Her logo is inspired by her beautiful Cockerpoo Gracie, who loves a pamper session and really inspired Natalie to forge a career working with dogs.
