Terms & Conditions

Please inform us if your dog has had any major operations, or are receiving any ongoing medical treatment.

This agreement gives The Hound & Co Marple permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary. We will try our best to contact you first. Veterinary care will be covered by the dog owners upon signing this contract/agreement.

Aggression:  Owners MUST inform The Hound & Co Marple if your dog(s) bite(s), has bitten or is aggressive toward people or other animals; we have the right to end a grooming appointment at any time before or during the process and 100% of the appointment will be charged.

If the dog should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and damages to the Groomer.

Accidents: there is always the possibility that an accident can occur. Grooming equipment is sharp and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems can occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quacking of nails etc. in most cases this can happen when a dog is wriggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to insure your dog is groomed as safely as possible but an excited dog can be dangerous to work on. We reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed.

Cancellation or change of appointment: We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment. Short notice impacts our business significantly, please respect our time and our business.

  • Less than 48 hours will incur a charge of £25

  • Less than 24 hours notice and 100% of the appointment cost will be payable

Any amounts incurred will need to be paid prior to any further appointments being made.

Late pick ups:  We appreciate you being on time for your appointments and collection of your dog. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your dog’s appointment, and you will be charged £25 for the missed appointment. If you require us to have your dog for longer, please inform us prior to the appointment so we may agree we can accommodate your dog.

Matted coats: Dogs with matted coats need extra time during their grooming session. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require your dog being shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risk of nicks, cuts or skin abrasions and may reveal undetected skin conditions. After effects can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritation, failure of hair regrowth and pets may exhibit brief behavioral changes. The best defense against matting is regular brushing, we will always offer you’re the best coat care advice for you, your dog and your lifestyle.

Matted coats will incur additional charges based on the length of time it takes to remove the coat, £7 per 15 minutes.

Fleas: If Fleas are found during the appointment you will be charged an additional £15 for a flea shampoo and additional cleaning costs. We will advise to seek veterinarian advice.

Pictures:  We may take pictures of your pet during their grooming session, which may be used on social media. Please inform us if you are not happy for us to do this.
